The Waller county clock tower project
The Waller County clock tower project is a great example of architectural sheet metal design. The goal was to reproduce the clock tower roof from the original 1864 courthouse and use it in the clock tower design. The roof, which is designed after the original clock tower housing, is a copper skin built around a steel frame. The design includes service areas in the roof to allow workers access to the intricate clock face mechanism.
MCT Sheet Metal is proud of our role in the project. We not only provided the architectural sheet metal work, but contracted for much pf the tower construction and the 1894 Seth Thomas clock restoration. The original clock gear mechanism is showcased at the bottom of the tower within a glass encasement. Stop by sometime and listing to the sound of history.
